There is something about painting ocean waves that is so rewarding! For our first Summer Paint Party in the two older groups, we studied the different shades and tints of blues and greens in the ocean and learned how to use shadows and highlights to make our waves pop out of the canvas and appear three dimensional.

We used a technique called double loading the brush that allowed us to mix colors loosely right on the canvas. Everyone enjoyed mixing blues and greens to make beautiful oceans and skies.
