Patriotic Feelings

Most of the kids had talked about the events of 9/11 at school and with their families today. We discussed in art group how when we hear that story we experience lots of different emotions; sadness for those who lost their lives and loved ones, gratitude for those who served and helped unselfishly, the unity, pride and patriotism we felt as a country. We discussed how great art makes you FEEL something, our challenge today was to create a piece of art that makes the viewer feel proud to be an American.
